Textile and fashion cluster in Västra Götaland introduced during Almedalen Week

Next week, this year’s Almedalen Week opens in Visby, Gotland. In a jungle of politicians, business representatives and organisations, the University of Borås introduces the textile cluster established in the Borås region under the title “Cluster 7” Textile and Fashion Center.

In the autumn of 2013, the move to the new city district emerging in central Borås begins. In the former factory halls of AB Svenskt Konstsilke, the Swedish School of Textiles will become part of the hub of the textile cluster in West Sweden.

– ”Cluster 7” Textile and Fashion Center shows our strength in the textile field and establishes Borås as a nationally leading and internationally very competitive region. There’s great potential all over: inspiring and leading fashion design, new business models for textile and fashion enterprises, and advanced material science and material development, Rector Björn Brorström says.
