ST162 – Wireless signal transmission between textile sensors and smartphones

The project EVINN- Event-Based Innovation has a Smart Textiles project initiated to develop a technology for wireless signal transmission between textile sensors and smartphones. The idea is to develop a sock with integrated textile sensors to get feedback on your foot strike in real time during a workout or a competition. The sensors consist of a textile fiber with piezoelectric properties, which means that the fiber generates electrical energy when deformed mechanically, by pull or pressure, which can then be recorded.
